What would be the greatest starting 5 in NBA history?

I’m going for the most unselfish team here

  1. Magic Johnson. Highest average assists in NBA history. Most decorated PG ever. Team leader.
  1. Jerry West. The reason why I don’t put MJ or Kobe here is because I want the most unselfish team. I don’t want any ball hogs or egos on this team. West is perfect. He can score (actually he averages higher than Kobe does) and he is also one of the best assisters as well. He also keeps his ego in check. He’s also super clutch and a great defender as well.
  1. Lebron James. He’s a beast both offensively and defensively. He is the all time leader in assists for his position. He has one of the highest scoring averages in NBA history at 27 a game. The King has very few flaws – and the flaws he does have gets fixed up by the other people on this team.
  1. Hakeem Olajuwon. I think anyone can agree with me that Hakeem > Duncan. Hakeem is a great fit for the PF position because he has great footwork and plays almost like a guard. He is also a monster on defense and very clutch when the time comes.
  1. Wilt Chamberlain. I was thinking of putting Russell in this spot then I realized Wilt was also a great team player in his later years. Russell was a great team player all his career… but sorry Russell, Wilt is just the complete package. He almost equals Russell in defense and WAY surpasses him in offense. I also took him over Kareem because I feel Wilt was the more dominant player (in fact old Wilt gave young prime Kareem tons of trouble). There’s just no replacement for a guy who averaged 30/23/4.
