I actually this is a good test of how influential or impactful you are as a human being. If you are remembered thousands of years from now, then it’s undeniable that you were influential. The longer the human race remembered you the more impactful you were.
The average human being is likely not to be remembered by anyone other than their descendants and even then maybe only 2 generations of descendants. So let’s get that out of the way. We have to focus on famous people
Let’s take a look at some famous people…
People that will likely be remembered 50 years later – Tiger Woods, Lebron James, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Taylor Swift, Lionel Messi, Obama, Trump, Elon Musk, Clinton etc these are your current most famous people in the world tier
People that will likely be remembered 100 years later – Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Bruce Lee, Pele, Wayne Gretzky, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, JFK, Ronald Reagan etc – people who we have already remembered for 30–50 years are likely to be remembered 100 years too. These are people who clearly changed the world in some area.
People that will likely be remembered 200 years later – These are people who fundamentally changed the world in some way. Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison Charles Dickens, Charles Darwin, Benjamin Franklin, Napoleon, Albert Einstein, Adolf Hitler – that’s the tier these people are in
People that will likely to be remembered 500 years later – extremely influential scientists, inventors, thinkers and leaders. Isaac Newton, George Washington, Galileo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Shakespeare, Elizabeth I etc these are some of the most influential people in the last millennium.
People that will likely to be remembered 1000+ years later – This is the highest echelon of famous. These people have fundamentally shaped world history in some way, usually leaders and conquerors. Christopher Columbus, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Qin Shi Huang, Genghis Khan, Aristotle, Plato, Muhammed, Cyrus the Great etc if you have reached this tier then you have truly made a massive and lasting impact on the world.
tldr; no the typical average person would have to do something extremely extraordinary for them to be remembered 5000+ years later. I highly doubt anyone remembers a single person from 5000 years ago. That’s what 3000 BCE? nope. 1000 years ago or 2000 years ago maybe in the extreme case I mentioned. But 5000+ years? unlikely.
