Why do people think Lebron James get more help than Michael Jordan? Just because he played with more all-stars, does that mean Lebron gets more help?

Yes, this is the way NBA fans think.

More all-stars = more help.

Now, when it comes to Kobe I think this is a very casual argument because Shaq is better than pretty much anyone Lebron has ever played with (and yes I know Bron played with Shaq too but I’m talking about PRIME Shaq here).

But when it comes to Jordan, he had Scottie Pippen mainly and a great defensive big in Horace Grant or Dennis Rodman, and then a few other great role players or shooters around him like Toni Kukoc, BJ Armstrong, John Paxson, Craig Hodges, Steve Kerr etc and that’s about it.
Jordan + Pippen + defensive big + role player shooters = two 3-peats and a 6–0 record. That’s pretty impressive to NBA fan’s eyes.

Lebron had Wade, Bosh, Kyrie, Love, AD and now Luka. And a bunch of other hall of famers past their prime (Allen, Melo, Dwight, Westbrook etc). And he has that 4–6 Finals record to show for it. This is not as impressive to NBA fans.

That’s pretty much what’s it about. Jordan has won more with less help. Of course Jordan and Kobe both had Phil Jackson too and Bron’s best coach was Spo.. but casual fans don’t care about the coaches as much.
