Why do Koreans deny the fact that they have always been a subordinate country of China in history, and even steal the culture of China?

Because it’s not true.

First of all I can tell this is written by a Chinese person who hates Korea or is jealous of Korea, but Korea always being a subordinate country of China isn’t true.

During the three kingdoms era of Korea (Goguryeo, Silla, Baekjae) and Unified Silla era, China had no controlling relationship over Korea. In fact, Tang China tried to invade Goguryeo several times and failed, then had to strike and alliance with Silla in order to unify the Korean peninsula, then Tang China tried to invade Unified Silla which failed.

During Korea’s Goryeo dynasty, it was only in control of China when the Yuan dynasty invaded Korea and turned Goryeo into a vassal state. During the Ming dynasty, Korea was no longer under a vassal state.

During Korea’s Joseon dynasty, it was never in direct control of China but forced to pay tribute to China after the Qing dynasty invaded them. They became a tributary state. And of course, Japan controlled Korea and modern day Korea is not controlled by China either.

So the only times Korea was ‘subordinate’ to China were the times it was taken over by the Mongol Yuan dynasty and the Manchurian Qing dynasty. That’s a far cry from ‘always been’.

And as for ‘stealing’ the culture of China, I think the better terminology is ‘influenced by’.

China was/is the most powerful state in Asia for most of its existence, ( barring the short time the Japanese were able to become technologically superior ). Of course its neighbors were going to be influenced by them. This is a normal thing to happen when a country becomes very powerful.

You might say Korea took some of their traditions and clothing and food from China, but this happens with many other cultures around the world.

European countries are all influenced by the remnants of the Roman empire. Canada, USA, and most former British colonies are influenced by the British Empire. And now we see many countries around the world being influenced by USA, including ironically, China. You might ask why Chinese people like to eat KFC? Why Chinese people like to wear jeans (American clothing)? Why Chinese people are buying Western products? or copy Western inventions??

See what I mean? So China copies so much from the West and then you dare say that Korea steals from China? lol the hypocrisy is baffling.
