Why do fans lump all 5 of Kobe’s rings together when his role clearly changed after Shaq left the Lakers? What makes people overlook this difference?

The same reason why people overlook all of Kobe’s negative moments: they are brainwashed. Kobe’s supporters form basically a cult-like fanbase that gives Kobe 100% of the credit whenever he wins and 0% of the blame whenever he loses. That’s why they think he won more than Lebron (which statistically isn’t true at all). Because they say Kobe being the closer for *some* games and outscoring Shaq in *some* games that they played together means that Kobe is equal to Shaq and thus his first 3 rings are elevated beyond the typical ‘Pippen’ ring and his latter 2 rings he gets 100% of the credit because they are apparently the hardest rings to win in basketball history (despite having the 1st seed) and he had to carry a team of ‘scrubs’. Not to mention the 2008 Olympics which he also gets 100% of the credit for.
Meanwhile he never gets blamed for any losses it’s always injuries or his teammate’s fault. 2004 Finals? that’s because of off court drama and Malone being injured not his fault. 2006 vs Suns? not his fault his team sucked. 2008 Finals? He had broken shooting finger. 2011 vs Mavs? He was too fatigued from carrying his teams to 3 straight Finals (yes the lamest ever excuse). And the NBA conspired against him to keep him from getting more MVPs and from getting more rings via CP3. That my friends, is brainwashing and delusional thinking but that’s what his fanbase is like. Then they have the nerve to say Bron fans are worse lol
