Take your Babe Ruth talk elsewhere. He never did this. Ruth didn’t even play much as a pitcher and when he pitched it was all in the dead ball era. And on top of that, Ohtani is doing this against much better competition (Ruth never played against black players) and doing it without PEDs (can’t say that for Barry Bonds and co).
Edit: there’s people who STILL think Ruth is better ok let me break it down to you guys:
-Ohtani plays in an era where pitchers can throw a 95 – 100mph fastball. In Ruth’s time it was 75–85mph, which in modern day even amateurs can do.
-Ohtani plays in an integrated league against everyone in the world. Ruth played in a league against white Americans only.
-Ohtani plays in a league where the standards of diet and fitness are considerably better from 100 years ago. Ruth played in a league where smoking and drinking were commonplace. The training regiment and diet were at a much lower level back then.
-Ohtani is a considerably better pitcher as Ruth pitched mostly in the dead ball era and thereafter never really pitched again. Ruth didn’t have many games where he pitched and batted at the same time. Ohtani does both batting and pitching at the same time and in the same game! And Ohtani of course pitches in the modern era against modern players. Which as mentioned you need to be a better pitcher to strike out.
-Ohtani is also considerably faster and steals more bases as well. Ohtani is the fastest runner on his team. Not so for Babe.
He’s the GOAT. A Japanese man is the GOAT in a Western sport with over 100+ years of history. It’s insane.
