We can exclude him from the top 10 because KD’s career is not greater than that of Shaq or Hakeem or Curry’s yet – and those are guys who are on the edge of the top 10 so if KD can’t get ahead of them then he’s certainly not top 10. Curry’s case is interesting because KD won 2 FMVPs while on the same team however KD has not been able to prove that he’s able to win without Curry and able to win as the main superstar without a co-lead. Curry meanwhile has been able to in both 2015 and 2022. Hence why Curry is usually ranked ahead of KD.
The next guys on the list is interesting but I would say KD is around the same ranking as Dr J, Moses, Jokic, Giannis, Malone, West, Oscar which round out a top 20. His career is somewhere around this level and that’s it.
He has to prove that he can win a ring as the main guy on his team and despite having surrounded himself with guys like Kyrie, Harden, CP3 and Booker he hasn’t been able to do that yet.
