Quite a lot of people, actually.
And it’s the most mind boggling thing to me. Like.. flat earth was something that even by the Renaissance era people didn’t believe in anymore. By the time of Copernicus and Galileo, it was a commonly accepted fact that the Earth was round. And now in our modern era despite having technology like planes and rocket ships… there’s still people believe that the Earth is flat. Like.. how?? It’s literally regressing back to medieval era thinking.
Basically all their logic comes down to: NASA lies to us, pictures of the Earth as a globe are fake, the Earth is flat because to their eyes, it’s flat. Like, they literally do not understand the sense of scale at all and they don’t believe in gravity (even though gravity is very easy to prove just drop anything on the ground..)
And the reason why boats and planes don’t fall off the edge of the Earth? That’s simple.. there’s a gigantic ice wall that reaches up to the heavens at the edge of the Earth.

Seriously… you can’t make this shit up. These people believe that the Antarctic Treaty of 1959 led to every country heavily guarding the Antarctica and that you would be shot down if you went there.
This is just mind boggling to me that people believe this nonsense. First of all that’s NOT what the Antarctic Treaty is about – it’s a treaty about keeping Antarctica peaceful for scientific purposes – and yes anyone can actually just book a cruise to Antarctica. It’s something anyone can do. There’s no giant ice walls and nobody will be shot for going there. Seriously what is wrong with these people??
People just go straight to ‘it must be a conspiracy / cover up’ when they can’t understand something. They think because we didn’t go to the moon again after the 70s then that must mean they are hiding something there. Like.. what reason would there be to lie to people that we went to the moon? What reason would there be to lie to people that the Earth is round? What’s the benefit? And it would have to be a global conspiracy where EVERY country would have to agree to cover it up too. Like.. why?? To what end?? These people just don’t think do they??
The amount of misinformation spreading on social media and turning people’s brains into mush is just unbelievable these days…
